The Highland Haven, converted barn, John O'Groats

The Highland Haven is perfect for those travelling the NC500 or visiting Orkney in a group. Our two rooms have traditional box beds and can sleep up to 10 (4 in one room, 6 in the other), each with Ensuite and an extra wet room. There is a large open plan kitchen, dining, lounging area surrounding a wood burner. We have secure parking, laundry facilities, free WIFI and offer fresh scones on arrival (pm for details). There's nowhere quite like it, check out @thehighlandhaven #sconewiththewind 😁

Being 500m from the famous NC 500 A836 route, Southview has easy access to Thurso (17 miles) nearest town with supermarkets / shopping , and to the west, Betty Hill (13 miles) , with Melvich , Strathy , Farr and Reay beaches waiting to be explored . The Bu: in the rural heart of Neolithic Orkney

Come & stay in the rural heart of Orkney in Ian & Andy’s eco house close to Maes Howe, the Ring of Brodgar, & the Loch of Harray. We are fairly remote: a *20 minute drive* from Kirkwall, Stromness, & the main tourist sites. *We are not easily reachable by bus.* Dogs are welcome provided they have well behaved owners who bring bedding for them as they aren't allowed on the furniture or the bed. Cereal, milk, fruit juice, tea, coffee, bread, butter, jams, & yoghurt provided for breakfast.

Her sturdy two feet thick stone walls are a few hundred years old. She on the inside has a brand new facelift, and all the comforts we enjoy. The views here are stunning and will take your breath away like it does mine . A rare place indeed where the fresh water of the salmon filled Forss river flows into the sea.
