Located on a private road and surrounding a large private lake, this relaxing location in rural southern Illinois is a treasure. This studio apartment (upper left unit) is one of four units. This space is nestled directly in front of the 8 acre lake which is well stocked. With a serene setting, you'll have access to a fishing dock, picnic table and bench, a charcoal BBQ grill, firepit, yard, and hiking access. Tiny House on the lake, also called cabin #4

The tiny house is on the edge of a 4 acre pond. The full bed is a mattress in a loft, stairs and a handrail to get up, it's a bit over 5 feet for headroom, please note, as a loft bed is not for everyone. Cabin is in the woods with bugs, poison ivy, and animals. I often see a water snake swimming in the pond below, along w/ fish and turtles. Catch and release. If you want to be in a kind of raw nature setting without landscaping, tom, your host, will guide you in this experience.

Our second listing for Hilltop Retreat, this two-level home provides the space and seclusion a group of 12 could use to get away from the hustle of everyday life. Located next to the Shawnee National Forest, and right at the beginning of the Shawnee Wine Trail, this home has alot to offer. Take in the scenery of the private pond on the upper porch deck, or enjoy a fire in the evenings around the large firepit. Plenty of games are provided in the game/movie theater room as well!

The large cabin like room with queen bed is in the West side, second floor, in a conveniently located vintage cabin style house from the 1920’s, surrounded by nature. Located 3min South of Southern Illinois University Aarena, across from McDonalds on S. Illinois Ave. and 30 yards from 2 gas stations (Hucks and CircleK), and on the way to several state parks (Giant City State Park, SIU Touch of Nature, Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge, Little Grassy Lake, etc).
