The Gathering Place is the perfect place to get away and gather with family and friends. The resort is located conveniently between Bardstown, Louisville, and Frankfort on the Bourbon Trail. Offseason hiking, fireplace, and hot tub make a great peaceful getaway or work from "home" experience. Enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking, golf, hiking, bird/deer watching and relaxing. The owners have been Resort guests for years and now own a cottage to enjoy and share with family, friends, and guests.

Peaceful Getaway in the Country

Enjoy this rustic, yet cozy, two-story barnhouse located near bourbon country. Perfect for a couple's getaway, it has open lofts with a comfy king-sized bed, a kitchen stocked with all the essentials, laundry room, wood burning stove & two bathrooms: one with a walk-in shower & one with a soaker tub. This listing's interior is ready, however the exterior is still a work in progress as we continue to create comfortable outdoor spaces. Must see all pictures to appreciate what this place offers.

Sweet Hollow Farm

Sweet Hollow Farm is located near Taylorsville Lake. 30 miles from Louisville, 40 miles from Lexington and 25 from Bardstown. We have a small farm with a studio barn apartment. Private entrance with full bath. We also have a beautiful pool that we share with our guests. There is a horseshoe pit, fire pit and multiple outdoor seating areas. Kids and dogs are welcome. We even have space for horses and boats. We can offer peace and quiet, a clear view of the stars and hummingbird theatrics.

Make yourself at home in this cozy 2 bedroom 2 bath lakeside cottage with incredible views of Taylorsville Lake. You will love the open airy feel complete with deck and hot tub. Washer dryer, four beds that easily sleeps 7. TV in both the master bedroom and the living room. The wonderful community also offers a swimming pool and play area for kids. Enjoy the wildlife as well including deer and turkey as you explore the walking trails. We are located in the heart of the bourbon country!

It's not perfect, but our guests find it charming and sufficient. You'll find the home exactly as described with the offerings and expectations. Rest, relax, and recharge in a gated community overlooking Taylorsville Lake. Don’t be another hotel's customer when you can stay in a spacious home with a Jacuzzi J-235 hot tub.

I invite you to take a step back in time while experiencing the comfort and appeal of today in the charming atmosphere of a mid-1800’s original log cabin right in town. It was the home to author Elizabeth Maddox Roberts. There is a large backyard complimented by a grazing hillside and a stream that separates the two. A truly unique setting. And, enjoy a large patio and fire pit to enhance your relaxation at the end of the day. I do not rent for local parties or gatherings.

As a big family of 4 kid and 8 grand-kids, we wanted a getaway cottage to run off too as a family. We would also like to share this family bonding experience with others. Cottage 59 is kid-friendly with a community playground off the back porch. The community pool is located up the road from our cottage. Our cottage can accommodate up to 8 people with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with flat screen TV's in each bedroom.
