Our Villa No.7 is a unique 2 story riverside bungalow. NEWS : Guests can now use our Riverside Pool ! Totally private with a small downstairs airconditioned bedroom and an upstairs yoga shala overlooking the river and rice paddies. Villa #7 is a truly unique oasis of peace and calm in Central Ubud being 230 metres from the road, and guests are also welcome to share our beautiful Permaculture Garden ! Reliable 25Mbps internet !
The space
This lovely little cottage is nestled right next to the river, tucked away from main road, peace and calm. The Villa has a traditional outside Balinese hot-water shower right next to the River, and large glass sliding doors so that you can enjoy the sunrise from your queen size bed.
Upstairs from your bedroom is your very own Yoga Shala overlooking the river and rice paddies, facing East so you can enjoy the sunrise. Since upgrading our Internet last year we get a very reliable 25Mbps service and often hold conference calls with the US and Europe using Zoom and can watch youtube with no problems at all.
There is a small kitchenette with a 2 gas burner hob, fridge and all the pots, pans and cutlery you will need to do your own cooking. Ubud Organic Market is held every Saturday morning outside Pizza Bagus which is near our place so you can get lots of healthy fresh food, and we are happy to share any produce from our own Permaculture garden.
NB: As our pool is down a steep staircase and is not fenced our rooms are NOT suitable for children or disabled people.
Guest access
Villa #7 is down quite a steep staircase so you need to be reasonably fit to access it.
All our guests are free to use our Riverside pool – If there are other guests we ask that you use the pool only between the hours of 10am to 7pm so as not to disturb them. If however you are the only riverside guests (Sudi will tell you !) then feel free to use the pool at your leisure !
At the entrance to the Villas there is a little horticultural paradise. The whole 150 sqm Organic Permaculture garden is yours to enjoy. If you are interested in gardening then just ask Kadek for his tips on composting, mulching and companion planting as he loves to share.
Other things to note
Only 3 minutes walk from Yoga Barn and 5 minutes walk from Monkey Forest, our Villas are a great place to be if you don't want to rent a motorbike as you can walk everywhere in Central Ubud. Being right next to ARMA museum (the venue for the Ubud Jazz Festival in August) it is a short stroll to ARMA's main stage where cultural dances are held nightly.
The street has an amazing range of cuisine available from many local Warungs to Greek, Argentinian, Japanese, Tex-Mex, Malaysian Fusion, Thai, Korean, French and 3 Italian restaurants,.... which is why this end of town is sometimes called Little Italy.
Need some shopping ? Just ask Suci or her daughters as they pass the Villa and head for the market every morning to buy flowers for the offerings that day. In fact why not join them at the market and let them advise you on all the local fruits and spices, and ask them for a cooking class for a truly Balinese experience ?
My parents Sudi and Suci live on site just at the top of the staircase should you need any help or advice.
My father Sudi spent 20 years as a professional tour guide so has a wealth of knowledge on where to visit in Bali, and can explain in simple terms the Balinese culture and traditions that surround you. He can organise motorbike hire or a car should you need it, and Suci will be happy to teach you Balinese cooking.
Why not pop down and hang out with her and her family to help in making the 1000s of offerings that are prepared every day for ceremonies ?
